AI-Assisted Operations
WeatherTact - AI Field Operations Planner

Problem
Field work is often planned without directly connecting work schedules, location-specific weather forecasts, worker conditions, and operational safety controls. Supervisors may have access to weather data, but the data is usually not translated into practical shift plans, recovery periods, stop-work conditions, or worker briefings.
Decision
WeatherTact was designed as an AI-powered field operations planner that connects company workspaces, worker roles, map-based work locations, hourly weather forecasts, and structured AI planning. Supabase handles authentication, workspace data, row-level security, and Edge Functions, while Open-Meteo provides forecast data and Featherless AI generates validated work plans for Admin review.
Result
The product creates a realistic end-to-end workflow where Admins can generate draft field work plans based on weather risk, review AI recommendations, approve worker briefings, and respond to field condition reports through replanning. The system keeps AI as a decision-support layer while preserving human review for safety-related decisions.
Retrospective
The main strength of this project is its practical workflow design: AI is not used as a generic chatbot, but as a structured planning engine with validation, approval, and auditability. Future improvements could include company-specific safety thresholds, PDF briefing export, expanded hazard types, notification integration, and deeper audit logs.
